Aim

Building on the skills taught in Certificate IV competencies, the Diploma level training provides you with the skills to operate as a manager. The course covers marketing services, managing personnel, systems performance and also industrial relations policies and processes.

This course is appropriate for people working in a medium to large sized customer focused enterprise.

It covers the areas essential with the development of professional management, such as managing people performance, recruit & induct staff, risk management, business growth opportunities, and budgets / financial plans. The course ensures you will be well equipped to handle all areas of management, in a skilful and productive manner.

After this course, you can proceed to study the Advanced Diploma of Business Management.
Career paths may include high level management positions, middle and senior management, project leader, team leader, project coordinator, project manager, and head of department.

Assessment in this course will be based around your day to day tasks, and mainly be of a practical nature. It may be in a one-on-one environment, tailored to your job role, or through the completion of set tasks / projects for submission as well as online questions and activities..

How long will it take to complete this course

As this course is competency based, you may progress through the units at your own pace. Typically,students complete this certificate in 5-8 months (if delivered on the job, or earlier if delivered through our Flexible Distance Education Module). Class based training is structured over 8 months.

This qualification is Nationally Recognised through the Australian National Training Authority.

Tailoring

Diploma of Business requires the successful completion of 8 units. 
These include:

  • a minimum of 5 Units from the Strategic Management Domain
  • 3 Units from any Accredited Training Package, of which:
    • a minimum of 2 Units must be from a Diploma Qualification
    • and 1 Unit may be included from a Certificate IV or Advance Diploma Qualification
